I am so tired.
Apr. 20th, 2006 11:12 pmI have been driving around quite a bit today, first to go to my parents to pick up my birth certificate, then to the Target in Cuyahoga Falls to apply for a job. I am quite positive about it not only because they have openings in the time I applied for, but that one of my friends already works there, and that is always a big help. The second round of my trip occurred after a mostly boring Biochemistry class, though he did pass back the tests. I received a 78%, which was a bit hinger than I was expecting. These lowered standards are really driving me nuts, I'd have been harming doors and sleeping way more in high school, hell, last year, had I been doing this badly in school. Though these lowered standards may have closed some doors of opportunity for me, this more laid back attitude feels somewhat better, as I have been a lot less stressed and tense about life recently. Now I only have to worry about my continue failings with the women.
The second phase of my trip took me to Ravenna, where the sun always shines brightly and it is always 20 degrees warmer. I can't really explain this phenomena, but it has been true for every time I have been through Ravenna in my 20 some years, that Ravenna is inexplicable hot and cloud free. The reason for me being in Ravenna was to get a replacement social security card, having lost my old one in a myriad of boxes thanks to packing my stuff up and its frequent shifting of locations. Turns out that I didn't need the birth certificate, having arrived in person. This is something they should clarify on the form. After finally finishing this important task (I had been putting it off for almost 10 months, the entire time at Bob Evans I never once was pressed to show my social security card beyond the original ask for proof of it) I returned to campus, hoping to reach it before 4pm, 15 minutes away.
It turns out that Ravenna is a lot further from Kent then I remember, so I was unable to attend another one of my friend's Thesis defense. They had already begun when I arrived 5 minutes late. Being a non-vital part of the entire operation, I did not wish to interrupt. So, being the vigilant and loyal friend I am, I lingered around Satterfield looking at the various fliers and such for the next 40 minutes. Afterwards I bough him some dinner and then went to see Jaegwon Kim talk about how the only laws of reality stem from physics, since it is the only thing that cannot be acted upon by "lower level" influences. Causality and meta-physics and all that.
Currently I am in my room, sitting, for the first time in 12 hours, and it is still too hot in here. Fortunately in a month it shall be I, DAVID that shall control the air conditioner! NO longer will I have to live under the tyranny of a 90 degree room. Unless, of course, Bryon, my too be roommate, is one of those heat loving jerks. If he is, I shall have to put snakes in his bed.
